Members of the Council of State on Friday backed the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
However, the Council of State members asked the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele to print new naira notes and make them available or recirculate the old notes to cushion the suffering of Nigerians.
Recall that Kanyi Daily earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari chaired the Council of State meeting with former Heads of State, General Yakubu Gowon, and Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as former President Goodluck Jonathan in attendance at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.
The meeting also had former President Olusegun Obasanjo who joined virtually.
This is a breaking report. More details will be added shortly.
