NSCDC Deploys 4,000 Personnel For General Elections In Kaduna

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said over 4,000 officers would be deployed to Kaduna State for the 2023 general elections in the state.

The NSCDC Commandant, Kaduna Command, CC Idris Yahaya Adah, who disclosed this on Wednesday, said the arrangements have been concluded for security coverage during the election.

He assured Kaduna residents to come out en mass to exercise their franchise as citizens of the country, noting that the massive deployment of NSCDC personnel was to ensure the safety of lives and property, just as he assured residents of security coverage.

Adah also said he had already constituted a monitoring team that would go around all the 23 local government areas of the state to ensure a hitch-free and credible election devoid of any electoral malpractices.

According to him, there would be deployment of the Anti-vandal Squad in the state to all critical national assets and infrastructure in Kaduna to protect against vandalism by criminal elements before, during and after the elections.

Adah further noted that state trained undercover personnel would work effectively with other security agencies in the state to maintain surveillance and provide intelligence reports.

He further advised residents of the state to always provide useful information about criminal elements and/or electoral fraudsters before, during and after elections, as the corps would not hesitate to deal with such criminal elements.

KanyiDaily recalls that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has also warned all broadcast media stations not to announce election results before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
