Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has revealed what he believes is the reason behind the internal conflict in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Some state chapters of the APC have been embroiled in an internal crisis.
A few days ago, three House of Representatives members from Katsina state defected from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was reported that the federal lawmakers joined the PDP after holding a private meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in Sokoto on Sunday, January 29.
It was also gathered that the three lawmakers are: Hamza Dalhatu (Rimi/Charanci/Batagarawa constituency) Salisu Iro (Katsina constituency) Ahmad Dayyabu (Danmusa/Batsari/Safana constituency)
The lawmakers were reported to have left the APC following the unresolved issues regarding the party’s primary elections.
“I believe there are elements in the Villa that want us to lose the election because they didn’t get their way; they had their candidate. Their candidate did not win the primaries,” El-Rufai had said.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Shehu Sani, who is very active on the micro-blogging website, argued that the internal conflict in the ruling party is not about the killings in the country.
Shehu Sani added that the crisis is also not about the suffering and the hardships faced by the masses of the people.
According to him, the internal crisis in the ruling party is simply about power; intra-gang warfare to control the levers of power.
He wrote, “Internal conflict in the ruling party is not about the killings in the country or the suffering and the hardships faced by the masses of the people, it’s simply about power; intra gang warfare to control the levers of power.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State of working for the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu as president in this month’s presidential candidate.
The PDP PCC Director General in Rivers State, Abiye Sekibo disclosed this in a letter, which was dated February 1, 2023, and addressed to Wike.
