Simon Ekpa Reacts As Finnish Govt Allegedly Threatens To Arrest And Charge Him With Terrorism

Finland-based Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa has dismissed a threat by the Finnish government to arrest and charge him with international terrorism.

Ekpa, a leader of the Autopilot group faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had repeatedly ordered sit-at-home across the South-East in Nigeria, insisting that there would be no election in the region this year.

He recently declared a sit-at-home from February 23 to 28, to stop the conduct of the 2023 general election in the South-East, but IPOB through its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, had distanced the secessionist group from the order.

It was gathered that some Nigerians had reported Ekpa to the Finnish Government over the threats by the factional IPOB leader and his teeming followers that provokes killings, maiming, burning and other destructive activities in the South-East.

In a viral letter addressed to Ekpa, the Finish government gave him 48 hours to call off the sit-at-home orders or risk being arrested and charged with international terrorism.

The letter reads, “Mr. Simon Ekpa, Following complaints by Nigerians in Finland and the Nigerian Government about your various pronouncements, using social media outlets, to impose sit-at-homes in Nigeria, you are hereby warned to desist from such nefarious activities which are capable of disturbing the peace and causing bloodshed.

“More worrying to the Finnish Government is your imposition of sit-at-homes on days slated for democratic elections in Nigeria. This is an act of international terrorism.

“You are hereby directed to call off your planned sit-at-homes by pronouncing through the same media outlets, you used for your illegal pronouncements, a reversal of your sit-at-home orders.

“Mr. Simon Ikpa, you have 48 hours to reverse course or you will be arrested and charged with international terrorism. I have directed my Attorney General, Raija Toiviainen, to ensure that my directive is immediately carried out.”

Reacting via his Twitter page, Ekpa urged his followers to disregard the letter which he described as fake and shared by desperate criminals.

He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to the fake letter being shared by desperate Nig criminals. Please disregard it, Nig is known for forgery, scam, internet fraud, crimes & that’s why we are fighting to exit such evil foundation, a country that its citizens make living through forgery.

“This is example of it they are now desperately forging Finnish government letters to blackmail Simon Ekpa & this is coming from some of the criminals propagating @PeterObi campaign.

“Because of forgery, fraud and criminalities of Nigeria state and Nigerians, the Nigeria passport is not an official means of identification in Finland. In Finland, your Nigeria passport is subject to further investigation because of fraud. Biafra will end it.”

KanyiDaily recalls that IPOB had accused Simon Ekpa and his gang “Autopilots” of enforcing that sit-at-home order and killings in the South-East.
