Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi Approach Court, Demand Election Materials Inspection

Less than 24 hours after they vowed to recover their mandates in the court, presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively have approached the presidential court.

The duo approached the court seeking permission for the inspection of election materials used during last the February 25th presidential poll.

Both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar have since refused to concede defeat at the poll after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.

Both men addressed separate press conferences in Abuja, the nation’s capital on Thursday where they snubbed the gesture of conciliation made by Tinubu.

The former Lagos governor had in his acceptance speech asked them to support him in the task of building the nation.

To match their words with action, Obi and Atiku requested PEC in Abuja to allow them to inspect materials used for the February 25 election.

Their request is contained in two ex-parte motions they filed at the PEC secretariat at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

Both motions, with INEC and two others as respondents, have been listed for hearing on Friday (today).
