Buhari Urges Nigerians In Diaspora To Support Tinubu

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians living in Diaspora to support the government of Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s president-elect.

Recall that the February 25th presidential election produced former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu as the winner of the keenly contested election, as announced by Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Buhari made the call in a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu.

According to Shehu, Buhari said this at a Town Hall meeting during his visit to the State of Qatar, on Tuesday.

Buhari said, “My administration set forward credible, transparent, and fair elections which will conclude on March 11, with the Governorship and State Assembly elections.

“Support the incoming government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, so that Nigeria will continue to be the beacon of hope and prosperity in our continent and an example for other African countries to emulate.”

The president’s spokesman said Buhari added that his administration had approved a National Diaspora Policy, and supported the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission all the way to develop programmes for the engagement of Nigerians in the Diaspora.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the just conducted presidential election, Peter Obi has urged his supporters to respect the sanctity of the court and avail his legal team space and peaceful environment to carry out their duties.
