Anumudu, who was a native of Mbieri in Imo state, was reportedly found dead in his bedroom this morning in what his family members described as “spiritual attack”.
The late politician had paid N25 million for Labour Party’s governorship form ahead of the Imo State governorship election on November 11th 2023.
This isn’t the first time Anumudu will contest the gubernatorial election in Imo. He had contested in 2019 under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Anumudu will be the second prominent death the Labour party has suffered since the election season began.
The first was Oyibo Chukwu, a Enugu East Senatorial Candidate, who was assassinated three days to the presidential and National Assembly election. He was eventually replaced by his younger brother, Kelvin Chukwu, who emerged victorious in the polls.
