“Nigeria’s Presidential Election Wasn’t Free And Fair, INEC Is Lying To Us” – Bolanle Olukanni Tells CNN [Video]

Media personality, Bolanle Olukanni has expressed displeasure over the just-concluded 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

KanyiDaily recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the 2023 general election.

Speaking in an interview with CNN, Olukanni accused the INEC of lying to Nigerians and announcing the election results manually despite promising to transmit the results electronically.

The media personality also claimed that the election was free and fair because there were clear cases of violence during the election and security operatives did nothing to curb it.

Olukanni expressed how disappointed she was with the electoral body as she feels INEC is lying to Nigerians about the whole process.

She said, “I think when it comes to what we were hoping, INEC the body that is conducting the election passed an electoral act in 2022 and pretty much the electoral act said that the result was going to be transmitted on their platform so it was going to be an electoral transmission.

“That didn’t happen. You saw situations where INEC officials refused uploading the results and they said they didn’t have the ability and the device was slow.

2) A lot of the results that are being uploaded unto database doesn’t compare to the result people took pictures of on their phones”.

Sharing a video of the interview with CNN on Instagram, she wrote; “March 1st. As we have been given the results – we know due process will have to play out. I am a huge advocate for prayer and action. This is the time to pray for our country. Pray for wisdom for all the lawyers who will contest the results. Pray that every human being involved will do the right thing. Take heart guys. God Bless Nigeria”
