Former Kano First Lady, Ladi Bako Is Dead

The former First Lady of Kano State, Hajiya Ladi Bako has died at the age of 93 after a protracted illness.

Ladi’s daughter, Zainab Bako, who confirmed the death to newsmen on Wednesday, said that the nonagenarian died at Prime Specialist Hospital in Kano after a protracted illness.

It was gathered funeral rites of Hajiya Ladi Bako will be at 1400 hrs (2:00 pm) today (Thursday) 5th April 2023 at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano.

The former first lady’s late husband was appointed Military governor of the old Kano State from May 1967 to July 1975.

During his tenure, Kano State witnessed massive socio-economic development, which successive governors of the state have been and still building upon.

This comes two days after the former Governor of Abia State and current senator Orji Uzor Kalu lost his wife, Ifeoma Uzor Kalu in the United States.
