INEC To Issue Certificate Of Return To Adamawa Gov-Elect, Ahmadu Fintiri, Deputy

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will issue certificates of return to the Adamawa State Governor-elect, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and his deputy by 3 pm on Wednesday.

INEC disclosed this in a short statement posted on its official Twitter handle.

According to the commission, the issuance of the certificates of return followed the conclusion of supplementary elections nationwide and the declaration of winners.

It said the event will take place at the  Conference Room, INEC Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.

The electoral umpire also said members of State Houses of Assembly- elect should contact its State offices for their certificates.

Kanyi Daily reported that the electoral body on Tuesday evening declared incumbent Governor, Fintiri as the winner of the Adamawa State Governorship Election.

The Returning Officer, Muhammed Melee, declared Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the poll as he polled 430,861 votes to defeat his major contender, Aisha Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 398,788.
