Arise TV Reporter ‘Almost Cried’ After Burna Boy Snubbed Her At Met Gala In New York [Video]

Arise TV reporter, Kachi Offiah has shared her encounter with Grammy-award winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy at the 2023 Met Gala in New York.

On May 2, Burna Boy and Tems stunned the red carpet of the 2023 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, United States.

The singer graced the event donning a matching black and blue slightly checkered outfit and a generous cape-like extension of the same material flowing behind him.

During a recent Arise 360 music programme, Kachi Offiah shared a video showing the moment Burna Boy snubbed her while trying to interview the singer on the red carpet of Met Gala.

In the video, Burna could be seen with the British-Nigerian rapper, Skepta as they both walked up the brimming Met Gala red carpet and granted a couple of interviews.

When it got to the turn of the Arise TV crew, Burna Boy smiled at her when she requested to interview him, but a white man and a lady walked up to them to request their attention inside.

Burna Boy said, “Honestly, I have got to go,” but the Arise TV reporter persisted, asking for just one question. The singer turned and pleaded that he needed to go inside at that instant.

After the singer walked away, the journalist said to the camera, “Guys, we got to remember this one, Burna Boy really snubbed Nigeria like don’t forget that.”

While recounting her experience with Burna, Kachi Offiah who was the only Nigerian reporter at the event said she almost cried after she was “snubbed” by the singer.

She said, “I’m not gonna lie, at that very moment [after Burna Boy’s snub] I was gonna cry. First of all, I tell you why, I looked hello stupid calling this man Odogwu [laughs].

And then he just walked right pass me like I was some crazy lady from Africa that doesn’t understand who he was. I’m sure people were probably thinking, who in the world is odogwu?”

KanyiDaily recalls that Burna Boy has been booked to perform in the final of the 2023 UEFA Champions League in Istanbul, Turkey.
