According to a new rumour, Jay-Z and Beyoncé paid cash for their massive new Malibu, California property.

According to a TMZ article on Monday, May 22, the power couple paid $200 million cash for the residence, making it the most expensive home ever acquired in California.

The deal is also reported to be the second most expensive in US real estate history, with a New York City flat previously selling for $238 million.

According to the story, the Carters purchased the all-concrete mansion from William Bell, one of the world’s largest art collectors who spent nearly 15 years building the mansion.

The home was designed by Japanese master architect Tadao Ando, who previously designed Kanye West’s $57.3 million mansion during his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

The property was originally marketed for $295 million, but the Carters purchased it for a negotiated price of $200 million.

According to Forbes, Beyoncé has a net worth of $450 million, while Jay-Z has a net worth of $2.5 billion.

They married in 2008 and have three children: 11-year-old Blue Ivy and 5-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
