Governor Umar Namadi stated this during his inauguration alongside his deputy, Aminu Usman, at Aminu Kano Triangle, Dutse, on Monday, May 29, 2023.
He assured the people of Jigawa that he would run his administration by being faithful, loyal, and honest, and would treat everyone equally, irrespective of their differences.
The governor called on other political parties to join hands and lift the state forward.
Namadi pledged to fulfill all his campaign promises before the completion of his first tenure. He highlighted the importance of prioritizing the socioeconomic well-being of the state and attracting investors to create more employment opportunities.
Addressing various sectors, including health, education, agriculture, and the environment, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the state, particularly the devastating floods that occurred in 2022, resulting in the destruction of houses, roads, bridges, and the loss of numerous lives.
“We will try and control the environmental challenges, especially the flood that put the state into a mess last year,” he said.
Governor Namadi expressed his intent to critically evaluate capital projects, with the state capital receiving particular attention and privileges.
He also extended his gratitude to the former governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, for his presence at the inauguration ceremony.
