Serie A Branded Racist After Crowning Kvaratskhelia ‘Napoli King’ Instead Of Osimhen

The Italian football league known as Serie A has been accused of racism after crowning Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as “King of Napoli” ahead of Victor Osimhen.

KanyiDaily recalls that Victor Osimhen helped Napoli to win their first Italian Serie A title in 33 years, following a 1-1 draw with Udinese on Thursday night.

The Nigerian striker wrote his name in the Serie A history books after scoring 22 goals and providing four assists in 29 league games to help Napoli maintain a 16-point lead with five games to go.

While the entire team has been superb all season under the guidance of coach Luciano Spalleti, Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia have been outstanding.

After the game on Thursday night, Napoli fans at the Diego Maradona stadium couldn’t hide their joy as they chanted the name of Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has broken Samuel Eto’o’s record (21) for the most goals scored by an African Player in a single Serie A season, and tied George Weah’s record for the highest African goal scorer in Serie A with 46 goals.

However, in a shocking tweet, Seria A shared an image that depicted Napoli and football legend Diego Maradona crowning Kvaratskhelia who was seated in a royal-like chair with the Scudetto trophy flanked on his left.

Football fans on Twitter have expressed their displeasure with Serie A for crowning Kvaratskhelia as the king in Napoli ahead of Osimhen, who is on course to become the first African player to win the Italian Serie A Golden Boot with 22 goals this campaign.

The fans who are fans mostly Nigerians agitated for what many alleged was racial discrimination given how instrumental Osimhen was to Napoli clinching the Serie A title after three decades.

Nigerians are criticizing the Seria A, branding them racist.

KanyiDaily recalls that Victor Osimhen is wanted by Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, but he insisted that he still has a future in Napoli, stressing that he has no plans to leave the club next summer.
