The octogenarian’s body was discovered inside her farm in the Costain axis of the local government, amid suspicions that she had been raped before her assailants murdered her.

The dead had been declared missing since last Wednesday, when she failed to come home after leaving her farm.

Sources in the rural community said that the victim was raped to death, especially given the circumstances surrounding her death.

One of the informants implied that there had been recent rapes in the village, which she claimed had prevented most of the women from travelling to the farm alone.

According to the source, a suspect, Sunday, who is a well-known palm wine tapper in the village, was apprehended by some youngsters when the deceased old woman’s phone was discovered on him.
