Musk announced that Twitter, in its latest version, will come with support for direct message replies, voice/video chats, and encrypted DM 1.0.
Musk disclosed this in a tweet on his handle on Wednesday.
He wrote, “With the latest version of the app, you can DM reply to any message in the thread (not just most recent) and use any emoji reaction.
“Release of encrypted DMs V1.0 should happen tomorrow. This will grow in sophistication rapidly. The acid test is that I could not see your DMs even if there was a gun to my head.
“Coming soon will be voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number.”
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye was angered by Twitter’s action of removing his verification tick.
This was after Okoye, like other celebrities, politicians, captains of industries, and journalists was hit by Twitter’s blue tick removal tsunami on April 20th.
Similarly, the Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu, also reacted to the removal of his Twitter verification tick by the microblogging app.
Elumelu expressed worry over the development and screamed “wahala”.
“Wahala” is a pidgin word, which means problem or trouble.
Musk, who has seen his $44 billion investment in the site shrivel, earlier pledged to get rid of what he described as a “lords & peasants system.”
He offered instead to sell the blue badge to anyone who would pay $8 a month.
