The immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari, has bestowed a national honor on popular comedian Ayo Makun, aka AY.
On Monday, the comic actor took to Instagram to share his joy over the prize, writing, “I’m indeed happy to be listed amongst individuals adding value to the country in all spheres of human endeavour.”
He revealed that he was awarded the title of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
In response to those who urged him to reject the national honor, AY stated that he will not do so since it is clearly “a national honor” and the nation is “bigger and more important than any president or political party awarding it.”
