According to Daily Trust, Abba Yusuf set up a task force that began the demolition operation on Friday evening, June 2nd, targeting structures situated within the Kano Race Course (Filin Sukuwa).
In a related development, the governor issued another directive on Friday to halt all land development activities at the Hajj Camp.
During his visit to the Kano State Pilgrims Camp to assess its condition, the governor expressed his disappointment at the state of the facility.
He revealed that the previous administration had compromised the integrity of the camp by selling numerous plots of land to their associates.
“I’m appalled that the facility that was meant to serve as a home away from home for intending pilgrims from Kano State and beyond has been debased by the immediate past administration, with many plots of land there sold to their cronies,” Abba Yusuf said
KanyiDaily recalls that Abba Kabir Yusuf had given a marching order to security agencies in the state to immediately take over all public properties sold by the administration of former Governor Umaru Ganduje.
