KanyiDaily recalls that last week, the 64-year-old actress cried out that she has been acting for decades yet doesn’t have a car. She claimed that she has been jumping on buses every day to get to her destination.
Iya Gbonkan, with a mournful tone in her voice, called on her fans to celebrate her while she is still alive, urging them not to wait until after her passing to show their support.
Following her plea, Nigerians came together and generously donated around N5 million towards a car and house project for Iya Gbonkan.
One Pastor Gabriel played a pivotal role in mobilizing kind-hearted people worldwide to contribute to the cause during his visit to Osogbo.
In a recent update, a fan named Mrs. Omobolanle Olatise selflessly donated a car to Iya Gbonkan, in addition to the earlier N5 million donation.
A video circulating on social media shows the heartwarming moment when the veteran actress received the car key. She entered the vehicle, posed happily, and offered heartfelt prayers for her fan from the comfort of the driver’s seat.
Veteran actresses Abeni Agbon and Tamotiye, who reportedly reside near Iya Gbonkan’s home in Osogbo, were also present to share in her joyous moment.
