In a video circulating on social media, the 29-year-old singer could be seen headlining a live show on Tuesday night when a fan rushed the stage and swiped at her, making contact with her forehead.
Despite the unexpected blow, Ava Max remained calm as security personnel dragged the man out. She quickly regained composure and continued with her performance before eventually leaving the stage.
Taking to Twitter her Twitter page, the ‘Sweet But Psycho’ singer shared her account of the incident, stating that she suffered a scratch to her eye. She also expressed gratitude to her fans for their support during the LA show.
She wrote: “He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again. Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!”
TMZ reported that the fan who slapped Ava Max during her performance in Los Angeles was not arrested because he claimed that his intention was simply to “hold her,” which is an act that is also considered illegal.
