Fans had flocked to the 41,000-capacity stadium on Saturday night, eagerly awaiting an unforgettable performance by Burna Boy, only to receive the disappointing news hours later that the show had been canceled.
Taking to his Instagram story, Burna Boy apologized to his fans, explaining that he was anticipating performing for his Dutch fans but unfortunately, it couldn’t happen due to “a number of reasons.”
He wrote, “Netherlands! I’m so excited to be here and I was so excited to see you all tonight. I am constantly humbled and in awe of the love and support I get from you all!
“Thank you for coming and waiting just to see us. I will forever appreciate that I’m hurt that I couldn’t see you tonight even though I really wanted to.
“We want to make sure you get the best “love Damini” experience possible and that won’t have happened today for a number of reasons.
“My amazing team have been hard at work trying to salvage it but we couldnt do it in time. I’ll be announcing a new date in a few hours so watch out for it.”
Burna Boy’s apology however wasn’t accepted by many who have since taken to social media to express their disappointment and criticize the singer for the canceled concert.
KanyiDaily recalls that Burna Boy recently delivered an electrifying performance during the 2023 UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan on Saturday night, June 10, at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Turkey.
