Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has been elected as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), a body consisting of all governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the forum, Uzodinma assumed the position of PGF Chairman following the completion of Atiku Bagudu’s tenure as the Governor of Kebbi State.
During a meeting with Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the APC, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni announced that Uzodinma and Sani were elected through a consensus process.
In his remarks, Uzodinma expressed his commitment to making the APC the leading political party in Nigeria. He emphasized that the governors of the APC were among the most proactive in the country and assured that his leadership would foster a strong synergy between the governors and the party.
Hope Uzodinma said, “APC is the only party we have got in Nigeria.
“The governors of APC seem to be the most active governors in Nigeria. So, my assurance is that we are just constructive partners to work with the party and our loyalty to the party is absolute.
“And indeed, the party will become the envy of other parties in Africa. Whatever that we did not get before, I’m sure under my leadership, the party will get it.
“It is going to be a synergy. We can’t do much without you and conversely I don’t think you can do much without us. So we are married in this business and there is no going back.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Governor Hope Uzodinma had recently revealed why the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, can’t influence his re-election bid.
