Notable among those attending the session are former speakers of the house, Ghali Na’Abbas, and Patricia Etteh.
In his final speech, the speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila praised members for their efforts in the last four years, which include the passage of important legislation like PIA, Electoral Act, and others.
Gbajabiamila however, expressed regret with the inability of the 9th House to pass several women-related bills that the House rejected in 2022.
He urged the next assembly to take on the challenge of passing gender-related bills.
Kanyi Daily recalled that President Bola Tinubu last week appointed Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff.
By the appointment, his position in the 10th NASS would be vacant.
As a result of the vacancy created by the appointment, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said the Surulere I Constituency lawmaker would be replaced.
The party noted that the ticket belonged to the APC, adding that a new candidate would be recommended by the constituency before a decision would be taken.
Reports say the next Assembly will be inaugurated on Tuesday.
