A man with epilepsy, Amos Christopher has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly beating to death and beheading his four-year-old younger brother, Thyson.

Christopher who is 24 years old, police authorities said on Wednesday, beat up his brother until he died, then cut off his head.

The suspect descended on his brother on Monday, June 19, as his health situation deteriorated.

A source was quoted to have said, “Amos had a seizure outside and slumped on the 18th June 2023, and was brought back home by neighbours.

“His health condition deteriorated with a complete change in his behaviour the following morning when he violently attacked his mother and a younger brother who were at home with him.

“He grabbed the four-year-old boy and dragged him into a room where he locked up the door from inside and beat him up to death. All effort to rescue the small boy by his mother was fruitless.

“He carried the dead body outside where he used the hoe in his possession and cut off the head.”

According to Adamawa Police Command Spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect has been insisting that he did nothing wrong and that his younger brother, whom he is accused of killing, is alive and well.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has officially assumed office as the 22nd police boss.

The former IG, Usman Baba Alkali, officially handed over to Egbetokun today, Wednesday, during a Handing/Taking Over Ceremony of the Inspector-General of Police at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
