Over the weekend, Toyin Abraham accused an unnamed person of creating WhatsApp groups just to criticize her latest movie, “Ijakumo: The Born Again Stripper,” which was recently released on Netflix.
She also alleged that the reason why her movie is getting “bad feedback” was because of her political affiliations, having supported President Bola Tinubu, during the 2023 general elections.
Taking to her Twitter page, Funke Akindele said that everyone has the potential for success, as the sky is vast enough for hardworking individuals to soar and achieve their goals.
She also emphasized that it is acceptable to admire and pray for one’s own success, but harboring envy toward successful people is a futile waste of energy.
Funke Akindele encouraged individuals to focus on their own journeys and achievements, rather than being consumed by negative emotions toward others.
She wrote: “Chop your own and I chop my own. The sky is big for every bird wey fit hustle to fly and chop their own. No dey look another man own for evil. You fit admire and pray for your own to come but no dey envy. Na waste of energy.”
Funke Akindele’s post on Twitter has garnered agreement from many people, who perceived it as directed towards Toyin Abraham who blamed people for her challenges.
This conclusion was drawn due to the timing of their film releases, with both Funke Akindele’s “Battle on Buka Street” and Toyin Abraham’s “Ijakumo” hitting the screens on the same day.
KanyiDaily recalls that Funke Akindele had recently reacted to her younger colleague Juliana Oloyede’s public apologies following their years-long feud.
