Taylor Swift, 33, and Matty Healy, 34, shocked the world when their romance was revealed in May, with speculation that they had been dating for weeks prior.
However, a close friend of Taylor’s has confirmed that she is now ‘single’ again, although the exact reason for their split remains unclear.
But Entertainment Tonight cited a source who claimed they were “both extremely busy” and “not really compatible for each other”.
“Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realised they’re not really compatible with each other,” the source told ET.
The source also said: “Taylor’s friends want what’s best for her and aren’t shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship.”
Taylor Swift broke up with her beau, Joe Alwyn, after six years together in April, a month before rumours circulated that she was dating Matty Healy.
Taylor and Matty were last seen together was on May 25 in New York City. Interestingly, just three days later, Matty was spotted kissing a male security guard at a concert in Denmark.
The performer was initially linked to the singer following their first meeting in 2014.
During Taylor’s The Eras Tour in May, Matty publicly supported her, attending her Nashville concerts and sending her loving glances.
They were frequently seen together in New York City, leaving recording studios and going out for dinner with Taylor’s friends Margaret Qualley, Phoebe Bridgers, and Zoe Kravitz.
In May, fans launched the #SpeakUpNow campaign in an attempt to separate the couple, due to their anger at some of Matty’s past indiscretions.
Examples of Matty’s controversial behaviour include kissing fans at his concerts, eating raw meat, reportedly performing a Nazi salute during a Kanye West song reference, and standing by when other podcasters made racist comments about rapper Ice Spice.
Neither Taylor Swift nor Matty Healy have commented on the rumoured split.
Prior to his relationship with Taylor, Matty had been involved with singers Halsey and FKA Twigs, with the latter separation occurring in 2022.
KanyiDaily recalls that Taylor Swift kicked off Pride Month with a message of solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community, pointing out policies she believes are anti-LGBTQ+.
