Blessing Mariam Akiode, better known as Candy Bleakz, a rising Nigerian singer, has stated that the absence of relationships amongst female artists makes it more difficult for them to prosper in the music industry than their male counterparts.
She claims that her distinctive musical approach makes it difficult for her to be welcomed by her female colleagues.
The 23-year-old was recently featured on the Clout Africa podcast.

“There is no relationship among female artistes for [Nigerian] female artistes in general,” Candy Bleakz stated. You know, no vibe, no nothing.
“Now, my music is even different from what they’re doing; I’m trying to like sync myself in, like, yo, I’m here.” What’s going on? As a result, it’s more difficult.”
