Caramel Plug recently found herself in the middle of a controversy when a vendor, Ruchy, accused her of receiving a free dress and reneging on her promise to give her (the vendor) credit.
The influencer initially denied knowing Ruchy, but the situation took a turn when the cloth vendor shared screenshots of her purported chat with Caramel as evidence.
Another vendor, Layi, came forward with evidence proving that the accusation was false. Layi provided chat records with Caramel where they discussed and finalized the dress purchase, along with the payment receipt.
In response to the false accusation and the potential damage to her reputation, Caramel used the police to arrest the vendor for spreading misleading information about her.
A Twitter influencer, @ManLikeIcey, who disclosed this shared a video showing someone presumed to be Caramel Plug, sitting in a black SUV in front of Ruchy’s house, accompanied by policemen who picked her up.
@ManLikeIcey revealed that the vendor has been in police custody since Wednesday because Caramel allegedly demanded an apology from Ruchy, but she refused to comply.
The vendor claimed that the police officers arrived in disguise, offering a gift before apprehending her. She asserted that Caramel instructed the police to confiscate her phone and forcibly took her to Maroko Station in Lagos.
He wrote, “Caramel used police to arrest the vendor who called her out few days ago over the free cloth issue, she said the police men came in disguise to give her a gift in a tinted vehicle, you can see Caramel in the first frame.
“She said was about to make a call then Caramel told the police men to bundle her inside the car and not let her use her phone, she has been in Maroko Station, Lagos since yesterday up till now.
“She said Caramel wants her to beg before she tells the police to release her, imagine. The vendor has vowed not to beg. She also mentioned they asked her for settlement but she refused to drop.”
