The price of the commodity on an NNPC filling station at the Central Area in Abuja showed that the price has now been adjusted from N539 to N617 per litre.
A customer who spoke to newsmen also confirmed the price increment.
“It is true, I just bought at N617 per liter,”
It is unclear the immediate reason behind this new development, but reports say it may not be unconnected to the recent projections by oil marketers that fuel price will hit N700 per litre soon.
This is a developing story as the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) is yet to comment on the issue.
NMDPRA is responsible for the regulation of the midstream and downstream petroleum operations in Nigeria which includes technical, operational, and commercial activities.
In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Acting Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a thorough investigation into a leaked memo claiming that the force has removed police officers from politicians.
