In a video shared on social media, Yemi My Lover claimed that Tope Alabi was his apprentice in the movie industry during the 90s, but she has never rendered any form of assistance or support to him after she achieved success.
The musician, who expressed his disappointment, revealed that Tope Alabi no longer answers his calls and failed to acknowledge his birthday last year, despite personally delivering an invitation letter to her office.
He added that this behavior is indicative of her character and emphasized that some gospel singers exhibit worse traits than ordinary individuals.
He said, “Tope Alabi was my apprentice in the movie industry in the 90s. Now that she has made it, I can’t remember any help she ever rendered to me. She doesn’t even pick up my calls.
“Last year when I wanted to celebrate my birthday, I personally took the invitation letter to her office but she neither came note send any gift to me.
“She didn’t even wish me a happy birthday but I am not mad, that is her way of life. Some of these gospel singers have worse character man regular people”.
KanyiDaily recalls that another gospel singer, Funmi Aragbaye had recently criticized Tope Alabi after she was seen singing a song in a church using “aboru aboye,” a term often associated with Ifa worshippers.
