Yerima, who was 49 years old when he married the minor disclosed this on Friday during an interview on Channels TV Politics Today.
When asked by the Presenter, Seun Okinbaloye whether he doesn’t think a child has the right under the law to education, Yerima said marriage does not stop education.
Okinbaloye further asked whether the minor he married is educated now.
In response, the former senator replied, “Yes, she’s doing her master’s degree now.”
Recall that Ahmed Sani Yerima came under fire in 2010 for marrying the 13-year-old girl.
