During a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Pete Edochie recounted a harrowing car accident that occurred as a result of overdrinking back in 1977 while leaving Nsukka, Enugu State.
According to him, he dozed off while driving his car under the influence of alcohol and collided with a stationary trailer, but the force of the accident threw him into the bushes, sparing his life by a stroke of luck.
Recalling another life-threatening encounter, Pete Edochie shared an incident where he had been kidnapped at one point in his life and thanked God for sparing him.
He said, “I drove my car under a truck. I will say the truth, perhaps I had too much to drink. On the 14th day of March 1977, I drove under a stationary trailer in the night and by the grace of God I came out of it.
“There was a time I was coming out of Nsukka and I slept on the wheel. I ran into a trailer and it knocked me into the bush. Like I said I have had some close shave but I thank God I am still alive. I have been kidnapped once too.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Pete Edochie also expressed his concerns about the rising divorce rates within the Nigerian movie industry.
