He said Sultan was a good person and added that his demise was initially like a joke to him.
According to him, the deceased was an angel.
2baba stated this during an interview with Adesola on Afrobeats Podcast which was shared on Thursday.
The “Target You” crooner said, “Sultan, I don’t know…he was one of the ‘goodest‘, if I can use that word. he was one of the ‘goodest‘ people you can ever come across. An Angel.
“For a long time, I did not accept that fact, it was like a joke. The diagnosis was late, he did tests in Nigeria. We thought it was malaria but I don’t want to get into all that.”
Recall that Sound Sultan passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of cancer.
The two were friends for over 20 years before Sultan died. Before his death, the two had collaborated on a few songs with the last being “Siren“, a song from the album which Sultan was working on before his sudden death.
On February 3 this year, the singer wrote on Instagram that he missed the deceased “so madly.”
In the second year anniversary of Sultan’s death in July 2023, 2baba again took to his Instagram page to pay tribute to him and said, “mourn you till I join you.”
