Two Men Rescued From Boat Accident At Atlantic Ocean In Lagos

Two men were rescued on Friday by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service after their canoe capsized and they fell into the Atlantic Ocean by the Eko Hotel and Suites section.

Director of the service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye stated this in a statement issued on Friday and posted on X handle of the agency.

The statement said the incident occurred at about 9:12 a.m. on Friday, stressing that operatives were immediately deployed from the Oba Oniru Fire Station for their rescue.

The statement said, “Two male adults reported to have fallen into the Atlantic Ocean when their canoe capsized by the Eko Hotel and Suites section of the ocean have been rescued.

“The incident which occurred at 09:12 hours on Friday saw the deployment of the Oba Oniru Fire Station of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service among other State Emergency Responders with the support of a private Boat Catheriner crew.

“The survivors whose names were given as Sanu Dewan, age 20, and Seraphin Meto, ago 40, were on a journey from Makoko, Ebute-Meta when the accident happened before they were saved from the jaws of death.

“Both victims are being attended to by appropriate government responders and in stable conditions.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Friday, said it will hold Russia responsible if the Wagner Group violates human rights in the wake of the Niger coup.
