2023 AFCONQ: Osimhen finishes as top scorer ahead of Salah, Mane

Victor Osimhen of Nigeria was the top scorer in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.


The Napoli talisman scored more goals than Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah combined.

Osimhen’s hat-trick in the Super Eagles’ 6-0 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principe increased his record to ten goals in six games.

It is double the number of goals scored by Zambia’s Patson Daka, Central African Republic’s Louis Mafouta, Mane, and Tunisia’s Yasine Mskani.

The Super Eagles finished Group A with 15 points with to Osimhen’s goals.

Kanyidaily recalls that Osimhen was nominated for men’s Ballon d’Or and it has generated series of reactions.
