D’Tigers drop 18 places in latest FIBA rankings

The D’Tigers of Nigeria fell 18 ranks in the current International Basketball Federation (FIBA) rankings.


The men’s basketball squad of the country is now rated 37th in the world.

Following their drop in the rankings, the D’Tigers are now ranked sixth in Africa.

The team’s dismal performance in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers in Lagos was blamed for the decrease.

South Sudan is Africa’s top-ranked country, followed by Ivory Coast, Angola, and Tunisia.

Egypt, Cape Verde, Senegal, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo round out the top ten teams on the continent.
