Gunmen behead DPO in Rivers

Armed men suspected of being cultists harassing portions of Rivers State have slain Bako Amgbanshin, a Divisional Police Officer.

According to reports, the terrible incidence occurred on Friday night in the State’s Ahoada East Local Government Area.

The assailants allegedly attacked the DPO and his men as they were on their way to search some criminal hideouts in the Ahoada East axis.

Before the DPO was apprehended, assassinated, and his body dissected, the agents engaged the miscreants in a pistol duel.

A viral video which surfaced on the Internet on Friday night revealed how Angbanshin’s head, hand and private part were cut off with several deep machete cuts.

In the video sighted by our correspondent, the gunmen chanted victory songs while his severed remains littered the floor.

When contacted by newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer of the State, Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident but failed to give details.

In a chat with our correspondent, the PPRO simply said, “the report is true”.

She promised to revert with details.
