How I was advised to join cult to ‘blow’ my music career– Phyno

Popular rapper Nelson Azubuike (better known by his stage name) Phyno says earlier when he started out, he was encouraged to join a cult group if he wants to gain quick fame and success in his music career.

Phyno revealed this while consulting a leading artists on the shortcut to success.

He said that he has never believed in shortcuts and believes that hard work, determination and flexibility are the essential ingredients of success.

The rapper advised young artists to resist the desire for instant success and to be cautious of disappointment in signing a contract with any record company without properly reading and considering the terms of the contract.

He said: “Some people look at us today and think we have it easy, but it’s not like that at all.

I’m not into simple things, and I had songs that nobody knew existed.

The leader of the cult says that God was involved in my arrest after the death of a rival.

“Some of my friends told me that I should give it up, join a cult, sacrifice something or someone, that the price is too high. I would never do that.

I started step by step with faith in myself and the power of effort, and today I thank God.

Continuing his speech, Phyno advised the young talents not to be disappointed and to have the spirit of hard work and perseverance.

Young talents should be calm and not try to break records or be in the limelight.

“Imagine a label begging for a contract. What terms are they going to give you? They already know you’re desperate and they’re trying to take advantage of you.”

He added: “You may not realize it at first, but you will regret it in the end. There is nothing more valuable than hard work and persistence.”
