KanyiDaily recalls that Mohbad died at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances on September 12, and was buried the following day in Lagos.

Following his death, Mohbad’s songs has continued to rise in popularity, as fans mourn, protest and demand justice for the late singer who left behind a 5-month-old boy.

On Thursday, the late rapper’s three songs debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, making history as the first African artist without an album to record such feat.

Among the three songs, “Peace” claimed the highest position at number 2, followed by “Feel Good” at number 5, and “Ask About Me” securing the number 8 spot.

The untimely death of Mohbad garnered widespread attention, drawing tributes from international artists such as Lil Durk, Central Cee, Kodak Black, and Meek Mill.
