NPFL board confirms single fixture for matchday one

The single game on matchday one of the 2023-24 season will be the Nigeria Professional Football League opener in Ibadan.

Shooting stars will square off against Plateau United at Ibadan’s Lekan Salami Stadium.

The NPFL’s chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, stated that the decision is consistent with the precedent set last season.

He went on to say that the choice was forced by the Super Eagles’ match on Sunday, September 10, in Uyo.
