Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola has expressed her frustration with the prevalence of godfatherism and godmotherism in the entertainment industry.
Wumi Toriola was reacting to the demise of singer, Mohbad, who struggled until his death after he left Marlian Music, a record label owned by his senoir colleague, Naira Marley.
In a post shared on her Instagram story, the actress highlighted the negative consequences of Godfatherism and godmotherism, such as stifling opportunities and fostering animosity.
Wumi said that this is the reason she and others have chosen to be their godfathers and godmothers. She further hopes for divine intervention to bring about destiny helpers who operate with a godly mindset.
“Godfatherism/motherism One wrong, Dem go off might and carry wire. Block intending helpers, cancel opportunities, Breeed hate, and a lot more. God abeg.
“The reason some of us have chosen to be our own godfather, godmother, and goddaughter.
God, please raise destiny helpers with a mind of God,” she wrote.
