EPL table: Guardiola speaks on teams to challenge for title

When questioned about the teams vying for the Premier League title this season, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was hesitant.

Guardiola stated that it is too early in the season to judge who the top Premier League title challengers are.

“It’s too early,” the former Barcelona manager stated at his pre-match press conference ahead of Man City’s Premier League rivalry with Manchester United on Sunday. Because the teams are a little behind, all of them are present. Based on my experience, a lot can happen in nine games. We were a few points behind in February and March but were able to win in the end.”

“We just need to improve our football game and mentality,” he added. I’m curious to see how we react at Old Trafford on Sunday. We won a lot, but it’s not about winning now; I want to see my team in huge situations with the correct mentality and the right approach.

“When you look at the fixtures, United is always a contender.” With nine games remaining, I’ll ask if they’re contenders, but it’s not going to happen in late October.”

Man City is now second in the Premier League table, while Manchester United is eighth.
