Fubara said this on Monday, addressing his supporters at the Assembly Complex as the House members, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, initiated the impeachment proceedings against him.
“Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offense I have committed to warrant any impeachment,” the governor said while addressing his supporters at the Assembly Complex
He added, “Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time, I will address the press.”
The governor, while assuring the people of the state of getting the benefits of democracy, said that he would address the issue at a more suitable moment.
the lawmakers also suspended Edison Ehie, the leader of the House along with certain colleagues who were perceived to be aligned with the governor.
This development unfolded shortly after a fire incident erupted at the Assembly Complex on Sunday night.
Kanyi Daily recalls that drama in Rivers State House of Assembly as lawmakers this morning launched an impeachment proceeding against Siminalayi Fubara.
