Douye Diri Praises INEC For Improved Handling Of Bayelsa Governorship Election

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the significant improvements in the handling of the ongoing governorship election in the state.

Following his vote at Ward 6 Unit 4 Kalaowei Owei in Sampou, Kolokuma-Opokuma LGA, Governor Diri expressed contentment with the efficiency and smoothness of the electoral process.

The exercise witnessed a significant voter turnout in the community and unfolded peacefully.

We are still putting our ears to the ground as to what is happening in other polling units

“But here (Sampou) I’m very satisfied with the process and the personnel that are handling the process.

In any case, what we ask for is a free process where the BVAS should be used just as I have done here today. Accreditation should be by BVAS across the state.”

Kanyi Daily recalls that Gunmen have kidnapped the Supervising Presiding Officer (SPO) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) assigned to registration area 06 in Ossioma, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
