While preaching to his congregation, Pastor Adeboye revealed that he fasted for almost 40 days and nights at the age of 80.
He revealed that numerous people had discouraged him from such a prolonged fast due to his age. Concerns were raised about potential health complications that might arise due to his age.
Despite the discouragement, Pastor Adeboye remained resolute, driven by a deep spiritual conviction about the significance of his fasting.
According to him, he had originally intended to fast for only 10 days, but he extended the duration beyond his initial plan.
During the fasting period, he encountered leg problems, leading him to switch to an armchair for teaching and preaching two years ago.
However, during his most recent sermon, Pastor Adeboye proudly showcased his restored health, standing before the congregation.
Emphasizing that age doesn’t limit the practice of fasting, the cleric highlighted that the essence of fasting lies in spiritual conviction.
He encouraged believers of all ages to fast whenever they feel spiritually led to do so.
