Mohammed Usman Adamu, alias Magnito, a popular rapper, has stated that “most successful female artists” in Nigeria are handled by their boyfriends.
He added that it has become a trend in the Nigerian music industry, but that audiences are unaware of it because such female singers keep their relationships hidden.

His claim elicited mixed reactions on social media, with many concurring with him while others berated him for “generalising”.
