National Anthem: Descushiel apologises to Nigerians, police

Mercy Isoyip, popularly known as Descushiel, a Nigerian actress and singer, has apologised to Nigerians and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for incorrectly reciting the national anthem during the Conference for Senior Police Officers in Imo State.

Descushiel, who dressed up in a police uniform for the event, went viral on Monday after she missed the lyrics while reciting the national anthem.

This drew criticism from some Nigerians on social media, who trolled Descushiel, who was mistaken for a policewoman due to her outfit.

Descushiel, on the other hand, apologised for her errors in a video posted on her Instagram account on Tuesday.

“I sincerely apologise for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem, I know such errors are inexcusable,” he said.

“Please accept my apologies, as well as my assurance that I will be more cautious in the future to prevent such incidents from occurring.”

“May God continue to bless the Nigeria Police Force.” God bless Nigeria’s Federal Republic.”
