During a conversation with Taymesan, Mayorkun expressed his dislike for being treated differently solely because he was the son of an actress, Toyin Adewale.
The singer explained that he chose not to reveal his mother ‘s identity, to avoid being treated with favoritism.
He said that during his university days, he deliberately kept his mother’s fame under wraps, as he and his brother desired freedom without the burden of fake attention that came with her popularity.
Mayorkun recounted an incident when his mother brought food to him at school, and he discreetly received it to prevent others from recognizing her.
He said, “Growing up, my brother and I didn’t like the fact that our mom was a popular actress because we wanted freedom, but with her fame came fake attention and all.
“I hated being treated differently, not because you like me but because I am Toyin Adewale’s son.
“Even in my university, people didn’t know she was my mother for four years. I was intentional about this.
“My mum brought food to me at school once, and a girl saw her. I quickly ran to her to get what she came with just so no one else saw her.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Mayorkun recently urged the National Assembly to prioritize the repair and improvement of the roads rather than purchasing new vehicles for themselves.
