‘I recorded ‘Thanks’ for my grandma’ – Burna Boy

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, has revealed that his grandma inspired his song titled ‘Thanks.’

The song “Thanks” appears on the singer’s seventh studio album, “I Told Them.”

In a post on his official X on Sunday, the artist claimed he created the song for his grandma, who constantly wanted him to come home but was quick to beg him to leave whenever he visited.

In terms of his plans for the holiday season this year, Burna Boy informed his fans that he would be spending December with his grandmother.

He posted: “My grandma used to be crying for me to come back home; now she’s on edge every time I come back home and is already asking when I’m leaving.

“This is why I made ‘Thanks’. I’m rolling with only her this December for peace to reign.”

Kanyidaily recalls that Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, others were nominated for MOBO Awards.
