On November 15, Oladips’ management announced his death on his Instagram page, but several associates disputed the claim, asserting that Oladips was alive and well.
A close friend, Sir Coolest also claimed that Oladips had just finished eating, revealing that the rapper faked his death to promote his album to top the music charts.
Oladips himself posted a video to confirm his vitality, leading to speculation that the rapper might have orchestrated the false news for attention.
During a recent interview with Tope Alabi of PUNCH Online. the rapper’s aide clarified that the misinterpretation arose from the manager who had access to Oladips’ page.
Abdulrasheed claimed the rapper had been dead for three days before the manager shared the news, and it was only on the third day that Oladips was revived.
He said, “I don’t know how to say this. It was a misinterpretation by the manager who has access to Oladips’ page.
We all thought he was dead because he was not breathing until the third day when he was revived. By then, the manager had already shared the story. Even I could not reach him until the third day.”
When asked about Oladips’ whereabouts during the three days, Abdulrasheed replied, “He was with his family.” Additionally, he disclosed that the manager, whose identity was withheld, had been dismissed by the music group in the aftermath of the incident.
“You are speaking with the right person in the label. The manager who shared the story has since been sacked. Oladips will soon address everyone on the issue,” Abdulrasheed added.
KanyIdaily recalls that Oladips had also refuted allegations suggesting he faked his death as a publicity stunt to promote his latest album, ‘Superhero Adugbo.’
